GoldEdge® cryogenic drill bits are extremely suited for use with bench drills or hand held drills with traditional three jaw chucks, for working in assembly shops, maintenance shops and construction.
Increased wear resistance and greater torsion strength are just a two of the benefits found in the new line of GoldEdge® cryogenic drill bits.
Designed to drill through work hardening grades of stainless steel and other hard to drill materials, GoldEdge drill bits are built to take on the most demanding jobs in the metal cutting, maintenance and construction.
Now more than ever businesses are looking for ways to reduce costs through fewer tool changeovers and less downtime.
GoldEdge® recently launched a new line of ultra-durable drill bits to fill this demand for multiple industries and applications.
GoldEdge® drill bits are subjected to a unique patented cryogenic treatment process that alters the steel's molecular structure, creating a drill bit that boasts increased wear resistance, greater torsion strength and a cleaner cut than conventional high speed steel drill bits.
The GoldEdge® patented cryogenic treatment process alters the molecular structure, converting retained austenite to martensite. Essentially it makes the materials grain structure more uniform and dense. With the material molecules more uniform and denser, it removes the microscopic voids and imperfections which can be the cause of chipping and wear.
The result is a significant increase in the cutting life as compared to the highest quality high speed steel drill, thus reducing the cost-per-hole.
As the process is not a surface coating once the drill has been re-ground the wear resistance will be similar to that of a new drill.
The drills feature a self centring 135° split point design. In addition the 3-Flat shank eliminates slippage when used in a chuck.
GoldEdge® drills are designed to take on the toughest jobs in metal cutting, maintenance and construction.
